Adventure Two, Session One Recap
General Summary
PROLOGUE
Many years ago, when Krimko was still Kelike of Sage, he fell in love with a sly rogue named Zelna Lencore. Zelna gave up her life of petty crime when Kelike saw in her a strong affinity for The Art. She stayed with him in Sage and honed her craft. Then, on the eve of becoming a true Boorka, she betrayed Kelike, which led to his self exile.
That was nearly an age ago, and Kelike (now Krimko) has never truly gotten over his first love. As far as he knows, she's long dead from age. But time doesn't always work the same way with the Boorka. And Zelna is about to return.
THE ADVENTURE
Zelna desires to learn a bit about Krimko's mindset before she springs her surprise upon him. As such she sets bait for his minions: the party. She poses as Rosata, a purveyor of rare magical treasures from Varuum, operating within Hariel Majour's highly illegal black market.
She uses one of Krimko's magic flyers to inform him that she possesses an item he's known to be after. An incomplete wand, missing one of a pair of gemstones. Worthless to many, but not the toymaker. She stole it from the Boorka when she fled Sage.
Krimko sends the PC's to haggle with Rosata. He fears, as he knows the item was previously in Sage, she may be a Boorka agent attempting to smoke him out, baiting him with an item of supreme importance to his overall plan.
Rosata, afraid that she's being followed by dark forces, pays the Isagorn of Narfell to shelter her until the PC's arrive. The PC's are met by an Isagorn inquisitor of the "Iron Shadows" named Kenyss. Kenyss escorts the party to meet Rosata.
Rosata confesses to be an old friend who left Krimko's side under rather strained circumstances. She now wishes to make ammends and surprise him with her visit, but she fears his reaction and just wants to get a "temperature check" before she sees him, though it's difficult to imagine anyone could stay angry with someone so charming as Zelna.
She asks the PC's copious personal questions about Krimko and his life. It is a bit odd... their age difference. If the PC's ask about it, she'll cop to using magical reagents to slow the aging process. "I'm old enough to be your grandmother! But it's part of the family business. Who trusts an old hag?"
The PC's escort Zelna from Narfell (where they met her) to Bramble, using an Isagorn wagon lent to them by an officer of the garrison.
WHERE WE LEFT OFF
We last left the party in the entrance to the Dullwood, where they drove their wagon into to avoid two manticores closing in on them from the main road.
