Talask and Sneg
Talask Letkan is an Isagorn war hero (see The Isagorn (Hobgoblins) for more information) who became a private investigator after his retirement from the "legions."
Talask is a follower of the Isagorn deity Bargrivyek, "God of Process."
He's not all work, however. He appreciates and practices oil painting, as it follows a meticulous process involving first study, then several phases of careful application in service to recreate a scene. He is the head officer in charge of internal affairs between the multiple legions garrisoned at Narfell (some goblin and bugbear too). He’s also in command of the Keep’s detachment of Iron Shadows agents, whom he vehemently dislikes (a feeling that is mutual, as they think his relative compassion is a heavy weakness). In their minds, Talask is only who he is because of fealty to a rank he earned in combat (a long time ago, and a “different” Isagorn) and continued (lip) service to the gods.
Talask is aided by his constant companion and executive assistant, Sneg (goblin), who he considers family and treats above his racial station. Talask nurtures Sneg’s innate curiosity and ambition to do something with his life. Sneg, for his part, admires and loves Talask, and would readily die for him.
Talask and Sneg, when not in Narfell, can often be found in Bramble, having a pint at "The Bountiful Cup," which happens to be run by their closest friend, the blue dragonborn (and fellow retired war hero) "Fumble."
Talask also has an estranged son named Halar, who he has not seen in years (not since the death of Halar's mother, to whom Talask was not wed). Halar is suspected to be amongst the renegade goblinoids in the Ruins of the First Men (see entry).
