Cylosia

The stormy coasts of Cylosia are both a sailor's dream and nightmare. The coasts of this tropical island are teeming with marine life, and the denizens of Cylosia eat a diet almost entirely consisting of sea food. The only problem is the tropical storms that frequent the island, sinking many a ship that isn't prepared for the typhoons.   The people of Cylosia live along its beaches, building boats from the palms and spearfishing for their meals. Their culture is based around the ocean, with most of them worshipping Seneschal, goddess of the sea. Folklore of the Cylosian people includes stories of sea-elves that live in a coral city deep at the bottom of the ocean.




Cylosian Cuisine:
The people of Cylosia live off a diet of mainly fish, shellfish, and harvested fruits and vegetables from along the coast. The trees that line the beaches offer coconuts and bananas, and the surrounding jungles offer a plethora of mushrooms.

Cylosian Shark Skewers
The spearfishermen of Cylosia occasionally slay one of the massive sharks that hunt in the waters off the coast. The meat from the shark offers a wide variety of meals and the shark's size can feed a whole village. The most popular of those dishes is the Shark Skewer. Tender shark meat grilled over a massive bonfire alongside coastal leeks and sprinkled with ginger and volcanic rock salt.
