The Dove Street Rumrunners

The Dove St. Rumrunners operate the breweries that line Dove St. and use them as a front for black market exchange and piracy. They control most of the import and export of illegal goods in Port Penitent and have a tight grip on the dockyards. Any and all sea traders in Port Penitent must go through the Dove Street Rumrunners or pay them a hefty bribe to ignore them. On the streets, the Dove Street boys have enforcers to rough up those that don’t comply with the pirate guild’s demands. The Dove Street enforcers stay clear of The Fist’s boys as they’re the only people in Port Penitent that could give them a run for their coin.

Structure

The Dove Street Rumrunners are led by Captain "Tooth" Marquis. Captain Marquis is top dog in the Dove Street Dockyards. Naturally imposing from his massive figure, Marquis is obeyed without question. He enjoys conflict and often welcomes the rivalry of the other crime guilds in Port Penitent. He likes to be confrontational and even enjoys arguing with the other Captains within the Dove Street Rumrunners. The rest of the guild of pirates is run by several different other pirate captains. The second in command is Captain Wealth Sincarious. Sincarious is a stern and serious tiefling with his eyes always set on making as much coin as possible. He is significantly more ruthless than the others in the Dove Street gang and often pushes for the gang to take drastic measures to ensure dominance in Port Penitent. Another notable figure within the gang is Captain Annabella Vengeance. Notoriously baby-faced with a natural inclination for a polite and kind demeanour, Annabella Vengeance does not give off the impression of your typical pirate. She chose to alter her name in an attempt to make it more intimidating to make up for her appearance and personality. She robs exclusively jewellery from her targets, as she doesn’t want anyone to starve by leaving them with nothing. This infuriates Captain Sincarious as he believes she isn’t maximizing profits. Although he would see her thrown out, no one can deny her place near the top of the pirate guild due to her borderline unnatural number of ships robbed per year.

Culture

The Dove Street Rumrunners are a pirate guild and behave as such. The don't take kindly to mutiny and are found in the many taverns in the Dockyard district each night, drinking and singing themselves into a stupor.
