Ur-Khalai

The great city of Ur-Khalai can be translated from old draconic into "the first city". The city was built long ago by Deimos the Architect, an elder red dragon. The towering spires of sandstone and iron have stood the test of time for centuries. The daughter of Deimos, Deitra, stands watch over the city as Flametender, and has done so for hundreds of years, ever since the disappearance of Deimos the Architect many years ago. Flametender Deitra is a wise and just ruler, looking over all of Halasatra and Castaregna. Her shrewd business sense has helped the city prosper, and her tendency to "collect" people whose skills she admires has placed under her control a group of highly skilled guardians, spymasters, healers, and merchants. She considers the wealth she controls and the vassals under her control to be her "Hoard", valuing their contribution to the prosperity of Ur-Khalai greatly and treating them with extravagant care.
