The Great Desert

The great desert begins just past the inland coast of the Placid Sea and is ringed by the Central Mountains. It is historically Human but was once occupied by Bol'Tein (1162-891)
It contains The Free Cities region which includes, among others, Beldhune, Erek, and Zhona.
The desert is about 1150 miles across north-south and 560 miles across east-west, making it about 645,000 square miles in area. This is approximately equivalent to the Patagonian desert in South America. It is 13% larger than the US state of Alaska.
