The Thalassan High Elf Priestess Ellinnin Elliennen married the Northern Human Noble Jonor Kratek in Kalliathissa on 7/6/1167 PE. The Thalassans, infuriated at this miscegenation and denigration of the religious order, called on all Elves to attack Humans anywhere they could be found. What followed was a convulsion of simultaneous wars that rocked the fledgling Human kingdoms of the west and helped encourage the fear of magic that would define Verdon.
Fennein, covetous of Southmark's golden age, launched an invasion that reduced the storied civilization to a tenth of its largest extent (1167-1162). Thalassa invaded The North (1167-1153) and Kolthis (1167-1160). Bol'Tein poured out of the Iron Mountains and occupied The Great Desert(1162-891) and Gonewald Forest(1167-1014). In retrospect, these were a set of contemporaneous invasions that had been in the making for some time rather than a single crusade. Each had separate motivations and there was no coordination whatsoever by the elven aggressors. Nonetheless, a single event was the direct trigger for all of them. The Sixth Crusade set Humanity back by hundreds of years and reinforced a skepticism of magic that would eventually culminate in the Empire.
