This lavish city is located in the north eastern corner of the Arathi Highlands located on the western coast of Elysium . Currently ruled by Chancellor Miranda Ward , this marvelous city plays a key part into the Kingdom of High Guard .
History
Originally a mining settlement known as Holsten's Point, named after it's founder & main investor Holsten J. Ward after his discovery of the Ward Stone & Highland Mines. He quicky got to work setting up his mining enterprise that rapidly exploded in size. Thanks to his foresight, the The Avarice Agreement would cement his family's future and become the foundation of their legacy, elevating them amongst the upper echelon of Elysium, also known as Elysium's High Nobility.In 896 B.C. to vastly reduce the cost and time of transportation of goods / supplies to and from, Holsten would instead opt for their expansion. Transforming what was once a small mining settlement to what would eventually become the great city of Avarice by 902 B.C. Also known by this time as the "City of Splendor", for it's affluence and lavish highland scenery. This city quickly became a hot spot for artists, and those of wealth.
Customs & Holidays
One of the most celebrated local holidays in avarice is Founder's Day . Founder's day is a celebration of Holsten J. Ward's influence and leverage on the kingdom to start the construction of Avarice. Founder's day is actually just the start of a week long festival known as the Arathi Arts Festival . Held in honor and celebrate the life of Holsten J. Ward, and his love and support of the arts that he showed throughout his time as chancellor.
