Nfable (Fey-bull)
A hidden Elvish village on the edge of the Dreadwood forest. They often have communication with the city of Saltmarsh and Seaton, sometimes even Burle to warn them of any natural or unnatural disasters that come from the Dreadwoods. A beautiful village hidden amongst the trees yet always seems to move for any adventurers that try to find it.
Demographics
Almost entirely elvish population. There are no particular wealth classes but instead, the class system is based on knowledge and age.
Government
The elder elf is the highest-ranking member in the society and delegates certain tasks to other high ranking officials.
Infrastructure
The village is built in the treetops of about 2 dozen treants that relocate every few months. As such, the infrastructure of the elves is one that must be easily collapsable. All the bridges and pipes are made to be retracted so that once the treants start moving, they do not get caught.
History
Originally, the town of Nfable was one created by elves that had left other more oppressive elves throughout the Dreadwood. However, in searching for their new home, they found a large heard of friendly treants. After bargaining with them, they worked out a deal where they would protect the treants in return for using their branches and bodies as their homes.
Eventually, the relationship between the elves and treants grew to the point that they are, presently, symbiotic with one another. The treants would move about twice a year to common places amongst the dreadwood. The path they take forms a wide circle around a grove of Sky Blossom trees that the elves keep an eye over.
In the past century or two, as Saltmarsh, Seaton, and Burle have developed, the elves found it advantageous to do business with them. They have formed a tentative alliance where the Elves of Nfable would warn the appropriate cities of dangers heading their way. In return, the dreadwood would remain unmolested by the citizens of Salinmoor (an easy agreement with for the Moors).
Points of interest
Some impressive points include:
- Sky Blossom Grove - Though not technically a part of the city of Nfable, the citizens have a close connection with the grove and often go there to meditate or ask their Gods/Goddesses for answers.
- Branch Farms - An impressive sight to most people who spend time on the ground, over multiple decades and centuries, Fabes have perfected and cultivated the farming of crops atop the treants in which they live.
- Barkbeard - The oldest of the treants that is the unofficial leader of the treants. This is where the leader of the elves, Joralf , lives so that they may be in close communication with one another. Over the decades, Joralf has spent time carving an ornate history of their combined socities' lives together onto the side of the treant (who does not mind it).
