Session 31: Raknian's Secret Basement
General Summary
The party held real still while invisible, and Nemara threw her voice down the corridor to make a distracting sound. The guard went off to investigate, and the gang walked softly past the other (snoring) guards to their room.
They explained what they saw to the paladin, but as Vin was sawing logs, they let her sleep.
The next morning, they stuffed more food in their pockets, and when they looked at the postings, realized there were no fights today, only exhibitions in the arena.
Their manager had come to visit them, though, with a confession.
The gang took a walk, and Ekaym revealed that he didn't actually care about winning the tournament. He wanted people to investigate the disappearance of his sister Lahaka, a travelling singer who had been dating Raknian and living in his palace when she disappeared. This was one year ago.
Ekaym greatly suspects his sister is not simply living her best life off the grid. He asked the PCs to find out what happened to her, and avenger her if need be.
The party accepted, and afterward, used the hustle and bustle of the day's festival to sneak back into Raknain's secret basement.
With their full force present, they engaged the strange amorphous creature. It emitted a strange radience that disoriented anyone who came close, and the warriors' weapons seemed less effective than normal.
Nevertheless, they fought on, and just as victory was in their sights, they heard a voice from the east corridor
The spellcasters braced themselves as a heavyset tiefling in armor appeared, with two hell-hounds stepping into the plane at his heels.
