4862. In response to an ask for help from the high elves of Evereska, the High Council sent 145 paladins and 40 war clerics to engage Aerisi Kalinoth, leader of the Air cult, in battle.

Kalinoth proved a worthy opponent and using the power of Yan-C-Bin, she killed nearly every single opponent that faced her. The Council, rather than admit defeat, did not even bring the bodies of the paladins and clerics home, choosing instead to burn their corpses. This fact is a heavily guarded secret since reincarnation as the Greyhawkians see it requires that the body be returned to the earth. Many children of the high families were killed in this battle, and it shook the loyalty of even the rich and powerful in Olarius.
