Compact Khazanian Crossbow

Compact Khazanian Crossbows are just that; Crossbows made specifically for and by Khazan . The crossbow is lightweight and sort of small to fit in a younger Khazan's hands, but still big enough to be used by an adult Khazan. It's normally used for training, but it still has enough power behind it to be lethal and useful in situations. It requires mini-bolts as ammunition rather than proper arrows or bolts. It has become a popular weapon when assassinations are needed, as it can be easily hidden.

Mechanics & Inner Workings

The crossbow is made of both wood and metal(s), and rather a string being pulled back to place a bolt in it, a pliable metal is pulled back instead, and two wooden latches cock up once the metal is pulled far enough, normally when the bolt is placed in properly. The wooden latches grab and hold the metal from releasing too early while loading the bolt, and the trigger is then pulled to release the latches, letting the metal bend back into proper place and shoot the bolt. Most of the crossbows have a bit of a cut out semi-circle in the middle of the wood that hold the ends of the metal band. Said semi-circle helps the wielder reload quicker, and those learning to find the proper spot of where to pull the bolt back to.

Manufacturing process

These crossbows are normally made by weaponsmiths, those that not only know blacksmithing, but also wood carving to help make the crossbow possible. That said, the job is normally used for creating ranged weapons like these, and plenty take this career path.

Significance

It has been used mainly for training those who wish to defend themselves, so if one wishes to be alive when traveling, it is pretty significant. Assassins sometimes use it, too, since it's so small. However, assassinations haven't been common enough to warrant limiting the production of the weapon.
