Essence Wreaker

An Artifacts of destruction, this Artifact seems to be able to form cuts and release energies of elemental magic through the weird boxes in it. The artifact is much akin to a sword, specifically the akrafena on Earth. The blade had one cutting edge, having a huge, wide curve before meeting at a tip with the other side of the blade, of which was semi-blunt and had a bend in it to curve the blade more.

The blade also holds nine weird boxes that looked akin to perfectly cut gem cubes across the back of the blade, on the semi-blunt edge. Each box had a different color or shade that glowed slightly, going up in a rainbow with each box. The colors went from black to violet, indigo, blue, green, yellow, orange, red, and ending in white. The blade itself was a dim silver.

Connected to the blade was a weird hilt with two large, slightly disjointed spheres on the top and bottom of the hilt. Said spheres seemed to be made up of gears in places, of which the wielder could manually shift. As to what all they can do is unknown, but it seems to mess with the boxes.

When the blade is swung, the boxes release their colors, making a rainbow trail with each and every slash. The trails disappear after a bit. Each box can end up glowing more and release bigger trails, which also makes different magical effects come forth from the blade. Similarly, the boxes can also dim to nothing, and no longer release a trail.
