The Royal Palace
Walking through the streets of the City in the Trees, you can see the tall towers of the Empress’s castle. It is beautiful, its bulbous wooden towers and natural courtyards look like it grew from the great tree it rests upon. Stained glass windows are scattered across the palace, like the Heavens’ holy fruit. Its grandiose figure rises above the other jungle trees. The palace is a maze of activity, servants wearing beads of all colors scurrying from one side to the other.
Purpose / Function
The palace is meant to house the Royal family as well as serve as a center of the Aelgari government. It is a palace meant to impress those who see it, hold the royal troops, and keep out attackers.
Alterations
Throughout the ages, more towers, courtyards, and rooms have been added to accommodate new Councillors, royalty, nobles, and government officials.
Architecture
The building is meant to imitate natural structures as much as possible. The towers follow the patterns of branches, the rooms seem to fit into the trunk of the tree. The walls are made of dark polished wood. Windows are traditionally made of stained glass and beads hanging from archways generally serve as dooors.
