Boggartry

Boggartry is a study and a practice that produces imps, by breeding two or more existing imps. Imps are native to the Nether Regions and they do not naturally breed.

Origin

The members of the Warlock Kennel Club Association were warlocks with a lot of free time, and access to nearly unlimited Void energy via the Infernal Nexus. This combination caused a renaissance in infernal studies, and founded the tradition of Boggartry.

Ritual

To set up the ritual, overly intricate circles must be drawn, black candles must be lit, romantic music must be played on infernal instruments, unknown currencies must be exchanged, and often much Gigglemug must be consumed. Profane (and often degrading) acts must be performed -- and that's just to get the imps in the mood. When imp breeders are asked for further detail, they usually reply "you really just don't want to know," and then stare blankly into their ale. The ritual itself is rather unimpressive, and the end product is fully the responsibility of the summoning wizard. This wizard becomes - or at least ensures - the new imp's food source. Imps do not have a cultural concept of family, since imps do not naturally reproduce, but are instead called into existence to balance available Void energy. Imps view Boggartry as a rather naughty night out, and good for a cackle.   Imp Breeds This has produced imps of every strange configuration, limited only by a warlock's imagination, and willingness to repeat the degrading rituals. In order of decreasing desirability: Teacup imps Weiner-imps Lap imps pug-faced imps bobble-head imps Peeve - farm work, administrative labor, legal, tourism.
