Imora

Imora Olkalal

Imora Olkalal of Tezitkal is a cynical and abrasive former Keeper of Olkum that is part of Kipilu of Tezitkal's adventuring party. Imora is an assassin rogue.    Imora is a mess - she drinks too much, she picks fights, and she often says the worst things she can think of. She is a bundle of ex-Sunekan trauma, a hyper-individualist who is always ready for those around her to try and push her down or assert dominance over her. She is still feeling out what a life outside of the monastery looks like; she was told that all was selfishness and strife outside the Suneka, and that is what she has found (largely by her own hand). Eventually, though, Imora will change as all things do.

Personal history

Imora's history is brief and mostly monastic. Her parents were merchants from the Empire of Calazen (or so she was told) who abandoned her along their travels at a young age. The Keepers of Olkum agreed to take her in - and so she spent most of her life. Imora was groomed to be a Keeper of Olkum rather than any other kind of monk, which was good; without the additional pressure, she may not have passed the tests necessary to join. It also added to the sense of powerlessness that Imora lived with, though, and over her teen years Imora grew more and more uhappy with her lot. She remained the model monk until eventually, her teachers pushed her too far - they sent her to tag along with active Keepers as a servant and apprentice. She witnessed executions for the Suneka. She discovered both the thrilling sense of power that killing can give and the absolute zealotry of the priesthood. The experience congealed inside of her and slowly soured, and she began acting out. Within a year, she had gone from model monk to class misfit.    Imora was paired with Kipilu of Tezitkal and Dina, the Martyr after it became clear that they got along relatively well; they were the more productive misfits, and might pull Imora out of her slump. What they ultimately did was rip Imora out of the Suneka altogether. And when the party when to the Kingdom of Sikrek, Imora's silent hope of a lovely land that her parents came from - an alternate world to the Suneka - was crushed by the horrific conditions there. Her performative cynicism crept deeper into her heart.    Since then, Imora has spent time exploring the world with Kipilu - and is starting to see things other than the horrors. Time will tell where that goes.
