West Zeruan Floodplain

The West Zeruan floodplain is the warmest, wettest part of continental Ekraht - it is where the warm currents and storms of Makal reach the rich volcanic soil of the mainland. 
While not as extremely fertile as the Zeruan heartlands (with their direct volcanic access), the West Zeruan floodplain is lush and forested. While the soil is bountiful and the rivers teem with fish, this is no arcadian wonderland - numerous massive swamps line many of the coasts, seasonal storms create immense flooding, and some of the eastern plains can be extremely difficult to farm without irrigation and water control. 
This is the most tropical part of continental Ekraht; small elephants, alligators, and large snakes abound. This is no rainforest, but the swamps and wetlands contain immense biodiversity. 
Two main princedoms control this region for the Zeruan Emperor:

• The Vice-Kingdom of Mikena, the stormy kingdom of legendary floods
• The Vice-Kingdom of Arasha, the windy semi-tropical forest and swampland known for its robust sugar farming

The small tributary of Bahskena also exists along the Western coastline.
