Goblin
Goblins are a somewhat rare and localized race in Halth'aire, only being found in large numbers in Auchnavar. They are native to Kingour, having inhabited the continent since before the arrival of the Froslakians. At the time, goblin and bugbear populations resisted the arrival of human migrators; however, deals and negotiations allowed for coexistence and a generally peaceful atmosphere on the continent. Goblins live among humans in villages and towns throughout Auchnavar, but they primarily tend to live in rural communities, partaking in subsistence farming and the herding of livestock. Many goblins living in urban areas tend to work in various forms of somewhat unskilled labor, acting as caravan drivers, dockhands, and manual laborers. Goblin culture and society has largely adopted Froslakian beliefs and traditions over the several millennia the two have coexisted. Since the two groups began to interact early into each other's histories, their cultures began to develop jointly. Gudor, the Froslakian god of the earth and natural magic, was originally a natural spirit revered by the goblins of Kingour for bringing them simple arcana through his druidic rituals. According to historical accounts, ancient goblin culture mostly revolved around living in tune with the natural world and worshipping the natural spirits around them, somewhat similarly to ancient Faitilic faiths. Despite the long term cooperation and coexistence of humans and goblins in Auchnavar, some Froslakians tend to harbor some prejudice against goblins, seeing them as uneducated forest-dwellers which has led to many difficulties for goblins aiming to reach offices in guilds or attend colleges.
Goblins are short humanoids with large noses and skin tones ranging from green to purple to reddish-brown. They tend to have black or white hair and sharp teeth. They have shorter lifespans than humans, typically living anywhere from forty to sixty years. Thus, the few goblins who have been Ryhai Sy'n tend to have lived very short lives as all of them had lived just under twenty years. Goblin fashion tends to follow that of Froslakian fashion, though elements of ancient goblin culture continue to shine through. It is common for goblins to wear wooden crowns and helmets made from high quality wood or bark, and many also bear piercings made from similar woods. Runic and traditional face paints, typically white or yellow in color, are also often worn on a somewhat daily basis.
