Halth'aire

The world of Halth'aire is filled with magic and wonderous arcana all brought upon by the Wellspring, a magical spring of arcane energy that appeared in the world unannounced over seven centuries ago before disappearing as quickly as it had arrived. Studied by the most prestigious school of mages, the School of Mysticism, the Wellspring spread massive amounts of arcana and magical energy across Halth'aire, imbuing the land and its people with its energies. The Ryhai Sy'n, a separate creed of humanoids connected to the magical weave of Halth'aire, were created from this magical outburst. Their attunement to magic makes them sought after advisors and mages among the rulers of Halth'aire, but their powers come with dire side effects such as shortened side effects and eventual insanity. The Ryhai Sy'n are not the only remnant of the Wellspring left in Halth'aire as the terrain, magic, climate, and resources of the world all seem to be imbued by the strange magical energy spread by the magical spring.   Halth'aire's people are spread across a cacophony of continents, with differing cultures and languages all interacting with each other as the various kingdoms continue to deal in military alliances and the waging of war. The recent collapse of the Valaris Empire has left the continent of Pwenlylyn in dire strands. The growing Rudfenian Empire continues to expand into the nearby Almor nations, taking more and more land for its ever expanding militant population. The Xumil trade nearly controls the economies and nations of Haraxim as wars are continuously fought over the straining supply of the precious green powder. Xumil, a rare powder extracted from the rocky hills of Haraxim, is used in most magical, arcane, and alchemical supplies.   The golden period of Halth'aire is on its last limbs. Power disputes and constant warfare have weakened most nations across the material plane apart from the Rudfenian Empire, whose expansion shows no signs of halting. Famine and disease spread across the poorer regions of kingdoms as Xumil supplies decline, weakening spells and making magic rarer and less widespread across Halth'aire. The Ryhai Sy'n are declining in number as many of their main leaders and most prominent figureheads have fallen to bouts of madness and insanity. The aberrations and monsters of Halth'aire, many of whom were chased away and nearly brought to extinction by the wellspring and protective arcane energy spread into Halth'aire, have begun to return to the public's eye, beginning their dangerous and destructive behavior once more. A bout of sudden arcane storms recently shook the land for the first time in centuries, spreading fear and panic into those who had forgotten of the destructive manner of natural arcana. The arcana of the wellspring seems to be fading, the world seems to be reverting to its natural state once more.
