Nuvarian

The Nuvarians are a race native to the expansive deserts of Haraxim, having long inhabited the continent. They have been in Haraxim since before the continent had fully become a dry, temperate, and magical desert, having inhabited Haraxim since before the Wellspring's arrival. Once the Wellspring had begun to disperse its magic, a strange bout of arcane energy washed over Haraxim, turning the temperate forests of the continent into a dry, rocky desert. They, like many of the other races in Haraxim, initially struggled to adapt to the new climate, but, over the next few centuries, the Nuvarians, along with the other races, began to develop new technologies and techniques to cultivate food and find useable drinking water. Nuvarians are also found in Atux, many having migrated to the continent after the drastic changes that occurred to Haraxim's climate and environment.
Nuvarians are widely integrated with Palorians and Humans in any region they inhabit as all three races have coexisted culturally and geographically for millennia. Nuvarians tend to associate with whatever human culture they are closest to or live around and practice the religions of the people around them. Many are skilled artisans while others work on water farms or Xumil mines across Haraxim. Nuvarians are somewhat reptilian in nature, being covered in scales and having forked tongues similar to those of most snakes. They have sharp noses and faces resembling those of snakes and other reptilian animals. The scales of Nuvarians come in a range of vivid reds, oranges, and blues. They have small triangular ears and a single, black horn that rests in their forehead. Nuvarians also have an angular ridge on each side of their head near the top. They have oval eyes that range in color. Nuvarians are often slender and tend to be slightly taller than the average human.
