Nobility

Noble Ranks of Thalendyr   King/Queen - The ruling Monarch of the Country Crown Prince - The eldest child of the Monarch and heir to the Monarchy Prince/Princess - any other direct descendants of the Monarch   Count - 4 counts in country, Governing the 4 major regions. This title is not heridatry but assigned by the King. Duke/Duchess - Heridatary title controlling a Duchy. There are currently 12 Duchies in the Kingdom Marquis/Marquise - The heir to the title of Duke   Baron/Baroness - The lowest rank of Heridatry title, Barons control fiefs within the Duchies. Each Duchie contains between 1-5 fiefs, and Barons are appointed by the king, on the recomendation of the Duke.   Nobles - These ranks denote Nobility, but aren't directly part of the ruling class. Earl - Roughly the equivalent of a count, these are simply the Monarch's advisors. New Counts are chosen from existing Earls. Lord/Lady - Lord and Lady are titles given to noble families that have no other title. This title can be granted by a King or a Prince. Knight - A military title granted to a protector of the realm, and can be granted by any noble of the ruling class Esquire - Any landed gentry that serves the ruling class. This is the lowest rank of Nobility, and can be granted by any noble of the ruling class.
