Othis Bastune
Baron Othis Greon Bastune (a.k.a. Greon)
Kolorn is held by Baron Greon Bastune from Earl Caldeth of Minarsas. The keep was originally built in 160 on the ruins of an earlier Jarin fortress and rebuilt in 530. The baron is a wenching degenerate. Fortunately, his young son, Sir Lyndar, 24, is a conscientious administrator.
The baron is unaware that his wife, the beautiful Lady Peresta Brailour Bastune, once maintained an adulterous relationship with Sir Koris Harabor, a bastard son of the king and currently Marshal of the Royal Guard. Some suspect that Sir Lyndar is the product of that union, not the son of the baron. Lady Peresta still spends most of her time at the Bastune townhouse in Tashal and her ongoing infidelities are legendary.
The baron is deep in debt to the Rakin Clan of Azadmere. He can no longer afford payments on the principal, but pays the interest with an annual shipment of Grain and Horses. Neither the baron’s son nor his liege are aware of his debts.
In 710, Othis's older brother Brorin died after a period of illness. Brorin’s younger brother Othis was never expected to succeed as Baron and had spent his youth hunting and jousting in tournaments. Though he was never notably successful in the joust, he fancied himself "Sir Greon," after a legendary Jarin warrior. Sir Othis expects his social inferiors to refer to him as Sir Greon, and is prone to losing his temper if they do not.
Sir Othis’ succession has only led to steadily worse behavior and extravagant spending over the years. As a result, Sir Othis son, Sir Lyndar, now handles most of the day to day decisions for the barony.
