One door north of the Allfaiths Shrine stands the Swinging Sword. The inn is a three-story stone structure, crowned by a steep slate roof that bristles with many chimneys. A signboard juts out over the door, hanging from chains. Its a ten-foot-long carved wooden scimitar emblazoned with the inns name in red paint on both sides. An inn yard with stables and outbuildings lies behind the building.
ROOMS
The Swiging Sword is welcoming and luxiours by the area's rustic standards. It is a popular stopover in the
Dessarin Valley. The topmost floor has dormitories where travelers can "sleep cheap" in shared rooms (1GP/2days). The lower floors are filled with suites that range from 2-5GP/day. Each room includes a rudimentary meal - either a fair stew or rugged "crumble bread".
MEALS
There is a problem with recurring kitchen fires. It takes 2-3 days to recover from a fire, during which the only food available is the crumble bread. Meals can be purchased across the street at
RL03 Helm at Highsun.
DRINKING
The first floor "dining area" is mostly used for drink with cheap rustic drinks available for purchase.
PEOPLE
Kaylessa Irkell is the half orc proprietor. Her staff Ghileeda, the suite maid and Iraun Thelder, the one-eyed stablemaster. Kaylessa has seen a few Red Larchers looking both frightened and furtive - this includes
Albaeri Mellikho the stonecutter and
Ulhro Luruth the tanner. She is not sure they are frightened by crime or frightened of getting caught.
