Lothrim the Foulspawner

Lothrim the Fowlspawner was a chieftain of a tribe inhabiting the Chelna Gap about 600 years ago. Widely traveled he became a man of some learning; some have speculated that he was trained in the arcane arts. Lothrim had become obsessed by the mysterious powers of the Earthmasters and was forever searching for their 'Penultimate Tome', the supposed key to understanding their power. He also delved into long-forbidden necromantic branches of the arcane arts. Using his arcane powers he gained control of a tribal federation stretching between the Thard and Kald rivers. Lothrim used his control over the tribal federation to establish an empire and begin conquering other nearby peoples.

The nickname “Foulspawner” came to Lothrim from the race of humanoid creatures he bred or brought to Hârn. These Foulspawn the Gargun were enlisted by Lothrim to conduct the reign of terror through which he maintained power. Lothrim came to believe that the Khuzdul of Kiraz had in their possession the Earthmaster Penultimate Tome. Lothrim met his doom when he embarked on a campaign to secure this fabled work. After his death in 120TR at the Battle of Sirion by Khuzan avenging the Carnage of Kiraz, Lothrim’s tribal federation quickly collapsed. The tribesmen then turned on Lothrim's orcish henchmen destroying most of them. The legacy of the Foulspawner and his Gargun trouble Hârn to this day.
