Stone of Aithgain
The Stone of Aithgain is a roughly rectangular block with a circular ditch in the centre surrounded by four smaller holes.
It is the central piece of the practice of Forring, the renaming of a person into a Marrer.

Significance
The stone is believed to have been the centrepiece of the Corann-Bile, the mythical place where the Circle of Oads originally gathered.
Although the Corann-Bile was lost after the loss of the Heol-Bri, it is told that what was left of the circle hid the stone until the time where it could once again be the centrepiece around which they gathered.
After Marrer Owendolyn saved the lands from the Mortlaid Plague, the Circle decided she was a figure sent by the gods and created the Forring ritual, which she became the first to experience.
In this ritual the head of the subject is placed above the stone and, using a Sword and Sickle, the shallowest of cuts is made around the neck.
The blood then slowly trickles onto the stone, infusing it with the blood of the person.
This symbolises how the newly-made Marrer becomes part of the centre of the Circle, around which all Oads will unite.
As was promised long ago, once the Circle reunited and built the Comnaidele of Penchester the Stone was placed in its centre and has remained there ever since.
