Velocipede

A velocipede is a medium of transport consisting of a frame and wheels.
In recent years, velocipedes have become one of the most popular ways to get around Penchester.

Variants

Being greatly specialisable in nature, velocipedes have come to be used for variety of different tasks. Here are but a few:
  • Crannypede: Designed to be used in the tightest of places
  • Flatnose: Designed to be used for transporting small deliveries or groups of people
  • Terralune: Designed to be used where speed it required, they are named after the proportions between front and back wheels (resembling Earth and moon respectively)

Propulsion

Velocipedes are usually powered by the human riding them, but motorised versions, called velocigins.
The rider may either use their feet to push the vehicle along, but may also have various transmission systems to achieve higher speeds.
