Kuari
Kuari is the leader of the remainders of the Crystal Galeb Duhr from the Nazwarin Caverns. Kuari was one of a few captors held by the Mezzoloth under Thue'Ban's control. The crystal galehb duhr are a subterranean variant of the guardians. Instead of being linked to an island's corestone, the crystal galeb duhr are entirely made of crystal, containing the same magic as the core stones. They are however unbound, and have an entirely different culture and society.
The crystal galeb duhr of the Nazwarin caverns grew crystals out of minerals found in the caves, which they would imbue with magic and grow into new galeb duhr over decades. Whenever they create crystals, they extend part of their soul into these gems, which then grows into a fully fledged crystal galeb duhr. Since only a handful of the crystal galeb duhr have survived, Kuari and his kin have adopted their ways to survive within the economy of Birpud and the Harmattan Straits. Kuari now grows smaller crystals and imbues them with magic. These are essentially young and underdeveloped crystal galeb duhr souls, which he modifies to provide magic abilities. His business has become successful, albeit that some of the surviving guardians don't approve of his methods.
Kuari has a strong business relationship with Nadia Qadir, and the two have a mutual respect for each other. Kuari is a pragmatist, and is unable to feel the same emotions humanoids do. His primary objective is the survival of his people, in whichever means necessary. He comes across as cold and emotionless. He doesn't understand global social boundaries, nor does he understand the nuance of humanoid interaction.
