Six hours later an explosion shakes the mountain. Rescue efforts find only one surviver.

On the morning of the 2nd February 1933 a saboteur climbs the Grand Cornier and gains entry into the research facilities inside.

Seemingly familiar with the layout of the facility, the intruder steals several chemical components and builds an extremely potent explosive device. At 12:00 o'clock the device explodes, destroying a large chunk of the facility. Rescue efforts begin immediately but only one survivor can be found, Nikolas Poujade himself. He later informs that a small hooded figure attacked him and left his unconcious body inside the facility's Sensitive Material Vault.
