abbit Hole is the corporate-wide knowledgebase for
Hegemony International. It was established in 1998 as the central database for all internal corporate documents. All employees have access to Rabbit Hole, although it's only available from within the corporate network.
Information Overload
While the tool is accessible to everyone, individual documents can be protected by a detailed set of permissions. Given that some records are set to be only accessible to precise employees and, over time, many of those employees have left the company, there's a sizable "shadow docket" of documents that are effectively inaccessible to anyone.
Utility
W
ith the tool having been in place for more than 70 years, and given the massive size of Hegemony's corporate footprint, the database has grown to house billions of individual documents. The sheer scope of Rabbit Hole's database, coupled with its Byzantine structure of permissions, has made it both a boon and a headache to its users. Employees frequently know that a given document exists in Rabbit Hole - but are utterly confounded by any attempt to find said document.
Arch Hare
