Gulf of Amarezza

The Gulf of Amarezza (Alessan: Golfo di Amarezza) is the body of water that separates the Kingdom of Sinopa from Santa Alessa. It is known by the Sinopans as Siscowet Bay, and by the Wythians as Hildebrand's Bay.

History

During the Entrapment of Santa Alessa (71 - 79 AU), the Gulf of Amarezza served as a staging ground for Imperial forces before the Siege of San Osserva.   On the 26th of August 428 AU, members of the Argent Company relayed false plans involving the Gulf to a Sinopan spy in Sevnónicha ahead of the invasion of Wanamekwa. George Cadougan informed the spy that the invasion force would be coalescing in Siscowet Bay in order to rendezvous with a fictitious Alessan fleet, rather than the true staging ground of Vyorcha.   On the 29th of August 428 AU, a group of individuals operating under the authority of the Alessan Inquisition crossed the Gulf under cover of darkness to intercept (and subsequently assassinate) a Sinopan High Aristomancer named Hurit. Hurit, a Scion of Tenyokia, was moving to support the city of Wanamekwa from the approaching Sevnóni-Wythian invasion force with a large host of undead, but when he was successfully assassinated by the Inquisition his army fell into chaos and dispersed.
