Tellot das Langlebige
Deputy Knight of the Order of the Red Maple
Deputy Knight of the Order and first of Elves to achieve that feat, Tellot das Langlebige ruled the Order of the Red Maple from 79AU until his leaving of the Order in 215 AU.
Early Life
Tellot was born in one of the seclusive Elven settlements within Eastwythe, and grew up knowing he wanted out of there. The little Elf was known for being adventurous with his friends, but also for his temper which when invoked was a terrible sight to see. His wish of adventure would come when the Empire seized control of Eastwythe. For the first time the young Elf was free to roam around the rest of the Empire and he found the new lands and creatures to be beautiful, even drawling and describing them in a notebook and diary he kept. The nature had fully accepted him into this new world, but the citizens of the Empire did not. Hailing from Eastwythe, Tellot was seen as a lesser being, more creature than civil being. Because of this Tellot avoided the cities as much as he could, but along the road one day he would be harassed by a passing merchant caravan. They threw stones at him, and in his anger Tellot attacked them back, knocking out four of the merchants before the rest were able to overpower him and began discussing how to punish him. It it wasn't long after this that they heard hooves approaching on the road, and large Men wearing red capes rode up to the conflict. The ten Knights approached the merchants, with the leader riding next to them and demanded to know what they were doing. The merchants began making excuses about how Tellot wasn't considered a citizen and how his people couldn't be trusted. The knight talked the merchants down and persuaded them to leave Tellot alone and be on their way, which they obliged in disdain. As the merchants left, the knight reached his hand outward towards Tellot and introduced himself as Freier der Jäger a knight of the Order of the Red Maple.Order of the Red Maple
After showing his ability to fight off multiple men at once, Freier requested that Tellot be allowed to join the Order and thus he was, and his training as a squire began with Freier as his teacher. After years under his tutelage Tellot would be granted membership as a Knight into the Order, and soon after would join his old mentor his campaign against the Sevnóni during the First Sevnóni Rebellion as one of his personal bodyguards.First Sevnóni Rebellion
During the conflict Tellot would be renown as a loyal member of the Order and a harsh but caring commander. Troops under his command would often remark how he would raise his voice in the presence of the army in order to appear like a stone faced leader who one should be glad is on their side. However, when the fighting got rough and moral was down, Tellot would also let his true emotions out and open up to his men about his past, his views on life, and how the loss of his friends in battle greatly weight on him. Near the end of the war Tellot's heart would truly be tested when his friend and mentor Freier had decided to surrender himself and the army to the Sevnóni. As much love as Tellot had for him, he had sacrificed too much, and just as Freier had saved him he would now save Freier. After executing Freier Tellot assumed command of the Order of the Red Maple and would have it written that Freier died in a Sevnóni ambush by one of their leaders Yarosev Zakharovich. Tellot made sure Freier would be remembered as a war hero and great man to inspire future generations. In secret Tellot wrote the true story of what happened and made sure to hide it in the Order's library where only the Chief Caretaker had access to it.Later Life
Tellot would go on to rule the Order for longer than any Deputy Knights before or after him. He was able to change the culture of the Order following the Sevnóni rebellion, and led the Order during the Wythe-Lagona War. After the war the Empire experienced a Long Peace and so the Order was instructed to guard duties, suppressing local revolts, and general duties. Because the Empire and Order were both in a state of tranquility, Tellot decided to step down as Deputy Knight and leave the Order in 215AU to further pursue his love of life and art. Tellot would roam the Empire, this time as a well renown and respected Elf, finding places to draw and paint for hours at a time from the mountains in Santa Alessa to the forests of Bergeaux.Death
Tellot would enjoy life until he slowly began to have night terrors of his past and the horrors he saw in battle. He slowly began to seclude himself at his home in Westwythe and could not find the motivation to paint anymore. Having longer life than men meant that Tellot had outlives all his friends and their children, and it was becoming too much of a burden on him. Knowing that he still had centuries of his life left ahead of him, Tellot instead took his own life in his home by way of poison.Legacy
Tellot das Langlebige's body was recovered and buried in the Order's graveyard, surrounded by flowers and trees from Eastwythe, and given all honors befitting him. He is remembered by the Order as a hard but kind leader who steered the Order in a new direction during a time of conflict.Mental characteristics
