Lowtalk and Lowertalk
A form of the language of the Old Folk spoken earlier, the languages of Lowtalk and Lowertalk are used by the commoners for daily communication. A few other races also speak Lowtalk and Lowertalk, as it is a form of lingua-franca on Heimland.
The two languages evolved from High-Talk, the original language of the Folk which later split into the High-Talk and Geeta; the Geeta split into the languages of the forests.
Writing System
Lowtalk and Lowertalk are written with Mazhkazor and Magadhan.
Phonology
The two languages have the ejective-consonants [pʼ] [tʼ] [kʼ], which are spelled px, tx, kx. They also have the syllabic consonants "ll" and "rr". All of these sounds are used rarely, with sounds like "dh" and "y" being used more commonly. Long vowels are also more common.
Morphology
There is not much difference between Lowtalk and Lowertalk. Lowertalk is essentially a "laymen's language" and Lowtalk is a more formal version of Lowertalk. Both languages have morphologies similar to the languages of the Geeta.
Syntax
Default word order is verb-second in main clauses, and verb-final in subordinate clauses. Questions are usually formed by inverting subject and finite verbs, and negatives by placing "ne" before the finite verb, regardless what verb.
