Professional Alchemyst (Al-chem-ist)
Healers, Physicians, Herb Eaters, Unnatural Doctors, and Wise Chemicalists. No matter the name. All of these are Alchemysts. They are the learned ones ungifted in magic, yet gifted in knowledge of herbs, chemicals, compounds, and physiology. Alchemysts serve society as Physicians, Apothecaries, Scientists, and even Archaeologists at times. Educated through out the world in Civic Universities. And often practicing their professions for a great deal longer than normal men. A testament to the potency of their elixirs.
Career
Qualifications
Those that seek to be a Professional Alchemyst should attend their local Civic Universities to learn the trade. This is normally a five year program.
Career Progression
An Alchemyst progresses in the pursuit of their profession through rigorous study, experimentation, and development of ethics in accordance with the mandates of the Alchemyst Guilds.
Payment & Reimbursement
Professional Alchemysts are often paid in the due price of the service they provide. For the service of a Physician, at typical, the pay is 8sp. Higher if the injury is severe.
Other Benefits
Entirely dependent on the jobs offered. But typically come with stable or ample pay, access to legal materials, and a laboratory in which to work.

History
The study of herbs, extracts, and solutions derived from the mixing or burning of natural components has been undertaken since sapient beings first walked the surface of the world. Along with it, the pursuit of formulas that can heal and restore. But also the crafting of formulas to harm, and kill. Alchemy is a road to many paths. But it is up to the Alchemyst to determine their paths and live with the consequences.
