The Kingdom of Dekmire
The Richest and Militarily Strongest Kingdom in the Heartland. Dekmire is the shining Realm of the Griffon Kings. Founded in the former Imperial province of @Ellician. Dekmire has come to encompass the entire Western Heartland. Withstanding Rebellion, War, Plague, Terrorism, and the fall of a Dynasty. The Kingdom of the Griffon Kings seems well capable of enduring the test of time.
Structure
The King or Queen presides over the entire Country. They are the Head of State, the Supreme Commander of the Military, and the Rightful Defender of the Law. Who so ever is King or Queen holds all of these powers under the title Griffon of the West.
Beneath the King or Queen are the Alderlar, or Alder Lords. These are the familial heads that descend from the former Kings of the land. What are now called Alderships. They preside over their Alderships, and head the civic parliaments of their lands.
Beneath the Alder Lords are the general Noble Houses. Those Nobles that are prominent but are not of former royal descent. These lords own and govern the individual lands that their Alder Lords rule in the name of the King.
The People have a voice in the Kingdom of Dekmire. For over a thousand years now, a civic parliament has upheld the rights of the people to the nobility and monarchy of the Kingdom.
Assets
Gold, Silver, Copper, Precious Gems, Textiles, Armaments, a strong military, a well trained civil guard force, and a plethora of fortresses and fortifications.
Territories
Dekmire encompasses the entire Western Heartland. Divided from the Eastern Heartland by the Dragonsong Mountains. Made up of the Alder Realms or Alderships of Westmark, Northwatch, Pelreach, Malicourt, Lorcard, Dekmire, Hessex, and Southmore. Along with the Holy Realm of Old Ellicia. Each one governed by an Alder Lord. A kind of Lord Paramount among their subservient lords. And the Nobility and Monarchy as a whole govern side by side with an assembly of representatives from the villages and towns in liege to the Nobility. Under a United Parliament.
Military
The Alderships each have a standing military force of 5,000 soldiers approximate. The Noble lords themselves command Militias assembled from their fiefs. Typically numbering 100 to 500 fighting men and women. The Kingdom as a whole, also has a standing professional army of enlisted soldiers. the Standing Army has over 200,000 fighting men and women. Each Aldership, including the Ruling Aldership of Dekmire, employ 1,000 Common Guard soldiers. Who form the city guards and local guards that uphold the law and investigate violations of the law.
Religion
While the Faith of Aemar may be the state religion. And is the official religion of the Monarchy. Under Dekmires constitution. No peacefully practiced religion is forbidden by law in the Kingdom.
As to the Faith of Aemar itself. Dekmire is arguably the center of the Religion. Since the Holy Land of Old Ellicia is under its rule.
Agriculture & Industry
Dekmires diverse terrain and easy access to the open sea and a connecting river give the Kingdom of the Griffon Kings immense resources.
Its thick woodlands provide it with ample game and ideal forester and lumber resources.
Many kinds of herbs and minerals permeate the realm as well. Its staunchest metal reserves coming from the Aldership of Westmark.
Since the Caernavas River cuts through the southern territories of Dekmire. The Kingdom has access to the Shattered Sea, where the epicenter of trade is.
Trade & Transport
Most everything that Dekmire trades internally is traded abroad as well. Sponsoring its merchants with a Letter of Credit with which to employ the services of either a detachment from a Mercenary Company. Or hire a group of locals that are willing to make the journey around the Kingdom, or to go abroad. Since its already busy treasuries cannot sponsor them with detachments of soldiers in its own employ.
