History
First discovered in the Third Aeon after the destruction of Artea. When the Artean Men discovered that not only far fewer of them than before could perform Magic. But that the ones who could suffered from reckless use of Magic. While the Dwarves knew of the ill effects from the beginning. Having been warned about it from their Creator. The Oraedar Yurion.
They affectionately called the effect, the Ravage. Timeless efforts have been taken to discover a way to stop it from happening in Humans or Dwarves. So far, none have been successful.
Cultural Reception
Since the Advent of the Fourth Aeon, following the Fall of the Ellician Empire. It had largely fallen into obscurity among the Common Folk and the High Born. Most who discover the condition are at a loss. Having simply thought it the product of some divine curse.
