Magic is the art of being able to extend one's soul to manipulate the natural energies of the world and for brief moments rewrite reality in one own image. A priest channeling his god's powers through his soul extends a part of himself to the heavens to act as a vessel for it, may change reality by their will, removing injuries and smiting those who would stand before the heavens. A wizard may extend his soul to encompass a world around him, changing the laws of nature briefly, conjuring fire where there is none, changing the landscape on a whim, and using her very soul to form solid objects. While Warlocks channel a fragment of power within themselves, using it instead of their own soul to perform deeds both terrible and great. All such arts can be dangerous for the physical world, for as solid as it seems, the barriers between the planes can be fickle things, and a simple mistake may tear it, inviting the horrors beyond to enter.
Soulbound Magic
Sah'Him
So-called because it is magic derived from one's soul and its bond with a higher source that allows one to channel the might of the celestial through it and other otherwordly forces, to do so requires both a great knowledge of the power one channels, but also the strengthening of ones own soul to withstand the tremendous force one channel.
The Miracles of the clergy are what most think of when the term is brought up, but in truth druids channel their powers in the same fashion, communing with the Wyld to channel its great powers.
Soul Weaving.
Sah'Xalia
The projection of one's soul allows one to force unnatural properties upon the world, warding it by careful incantation one can weave the natural magical energies of the world to perform both amazing and awful feats alike. Many fear the knowledge of Soul weaving for it is a power that cannot be tamed, bound neither by the gods, patrons or kings, only the wielder may decide what they channel their great power for, and thus many rightfully fear what they can do, and more still unjustly or not still shun such knowledge and it's practitioners.
Corebound Magic.
Celirim
Is magic derived from internal energies, though rare there are those who do not rely on either external power or bonds to it, but rather are able to project their souls and fuel their manipulations entirely by their own accord. Projecting their souls in the knowledge that their soul is anchored to their own core.
Not all corebound magic is in fact something people are born with, some refer to darker arts such magic as pact magic, those who would make deals with powerful entities to be bestowed a part of their might in return for pieces of their soul forever marked by the deed, but also empowered by the transaction.
