According to old Elven scholars, all the species can be parted into a set of casts or ways to categories the creatures of the world. This was the lens many of their descendants saw the world through, and to some extend many modern societies still view the world through this lens although with some changes, many humans for example who now follow the gods do not see themselves as the unborn, but the chosen of Raziel or whatever god they may follow, while those who still follow the old ways reject this devision of the species entirely.  

The God Born

The species created by gods, given the responsibility and right to be custodians of the domains which the Celestials granted them. Such peoples and species usually have strong ties to their creator gods and are often imbued with extraordinary abilities or carefully guarded by their creator gods.   This definition has been coopted or changed in some socities that use these terms, to also mean races or peoples chosen by the gods.  

The Curse Born

Species and peoples corrupted by the accursed gods or those afflicted with curses as punishment by the celestials for great transgressions. The Curse born are unnatural species that exist to further their curse to their offspring and corrupt the bloodlines of other species.  

The Unborn

Those born without the grace of the gods, creatures, and species created by accident or existing before the coming of the celestial and even species created by other species for whatever purpose. In the old view, such species had no right to exist beyond what was tolerated by the god born, as they were granted the world.
