The Tech Wars

The Tech Wars were a series of conflicts between various Steam Works organisations and the up and coming Magitech industry. It is unclear how this conflict began but it was characterised by sabotage, espionage and assassination. Proponents of Steam Works were concerned about being supplanted by Magitech while Magitech supporters desired to have the opportunity to compete financially.

Eventually, this conflict had spiralled out of control and the office of The High Lord Emperor was forced to step in to mediate a solution. The result of this was an uneasy peace and the funding for a massive, joint public works project between the Steam Works and Magitech Industries. This project would culminate with the city-wide, automated Steam Rail network.
