Bahrid

The White Fields under the Auroras

Fields covered under a blanket of fluffy snow and mountains towering over the forests in the distance — Bahrid is a true winter wonderland for those who adore the cold and frigid temperatures. Under the auroras, the chalky plains turn into colourful patches; a true sight to behold.
It may be cold out there, but there's something about Bahrid that draws me in.
— A traveler of old

Untouched

A variety of tuxedoed creatures waddle across the whitecapped landscape to their homes in the forests, the rocky shores, or over icy paths to their mountainous caves. Others venture back to their burrows in the woods, or to their nests high up in the trees or mountains.   With the average temperatures in Bahrid being well below the freezing point, the landscape, flora, and fauna are still in pristine state — most people don't dare treading these frigid lands. At the heart of winter, the sun doesn't show its face all day; during summer, its presence is everlasting.

Retreat

They might be few in number, but there are people who choose to endure the harsh climate of Bahrid for various reasons. Some just like the cold or are the adventurous type who want to explore every corner of the world. Others go here to achieve a number of spiritual goals or simply to escape the world as it is.   Everyone visiting the mystical winter wonderland arrives by boat in Madiba'tariq. Local residents waddle the shivering stack of limbs to the Bayt Althaljs to keep them from freezing. From here, people can decide for themselves what they want to do.

The arctic region of Bahrid is a beautiful scene to anyone who has been there, but be prepared for the chilly temperatures as it freezes all day every day. During winter, the auroras light the sky with their colourful dance.   However, once every few years during summer, the temperatures rise above freezing level for the briefest moment. The usually snow covered plains change; it is not white as far as the eye can see any longer — little freckles of flowers peek above the fluffiness as if the dancing auroras have come down from the skies.   What a mystical winter wonderland.

'The usually snow covered plains change; it is not white as far as the eye can see any longer — little freckles of flowers peek above the fluffiness as if the dancing auroras have come down from the skies.' I love this line so much!   I do not like cold, but I would visit here.
