High Elf
The High Elves of Hesli are a pretentious race. They claim to have been created by the mightiest of dragons, the gold dragons, which gives them the belief that they are superior over all other races. However, other species do not take their superiority too seriously and rather mock the elves about one big weakness: they don't like water thus don't like swimming at all or getting wet in general.
Basic Information
Anatomy
High elves have a long and slender posture. Old legends say they primarily maintained trees and forests which would explain why they are lighter and longer. With their two long arms, they are able to reach the highest branch and their two strong legs are capable of jumping and climbing the toughest trees. Their slender torso is surprisingly sturdy, since they train their core with climbing and traveling through the trees.
Growth Rate & Stages
High elves grow rather quickly. A child will be fully grown by the age of 10 and have learned to speak fluent Elvish by that time. From age 10 till age 30, the final accentual parts in Elven biology will develop, therefore becoming a full adult at the age of 30. In their early adulthood, they continue to explore several proficiencies. By the age of 100, a high elf will have chosen what they will focus on for the rest of their lives and thus become of mating age. At this age, they can are seen as a contributing part of elven society.
Ecology and Habitats
High elves thrive in forests and lushious greenery. They need nature around them to feel at home. They love maintaining the trees and plants and farming. Some elves like to live near the rockier side of the forest where they can look for precious gems that they can craft into beautiful jewels or even weaponry.
Dietary Needs and Habits
High elves have a versatile and healthy diet. They tend to eat some meat, primarily from the hunt to keep balance in the forests. Furthermore, they forage a lot for berries and other forest goods to supplement their diets. Finally, they add extra nutritious or favourite foods through farming.

High elves are highly intelligent. Their knowledge of the world is vast and they tend to be good at memorising everything they come across. They have a great interest in magic and history, resulting in them reading a lot of books.
Perception and Sensory Capabilities
The high elves have a keen sense of sight, especially in foresty regions. They can distinguish a multitude of green and brown colours, making it nearly impossibly for imposters to hide within the bushes. In caves, however, their sight is the same as that of humans, because the elves are not used to they grey colour pallet as much.

It is forbidden to speak of or ask about elven age, especially from the olden days. Currently, their average life span is around 400 years, but this used to be 750 years a long time ago. According to The Counsil of Eilmaris, in ancient times, someone had a condition that resulted in halving their life expectancy. This condition spread genetically for a long time before it was discovered, resulting in only very few high elf bloodlines staying out of this horror.
