In the beginning, the
Limani Supplies Dealer used
messengers to send parchment letters and small parcels to their
merchants and
wandering merchants on the road. However, they soon noticed that the messengers were rather slow even when delivering on a
Tezz, so they decided to develop their own system.
I'll give it to you, this is the most delicious surprise you've created and very useful too!— The Limani Trading Master
Capitalizing on Happy Accidents
Inspired by the
Phoenix, the
Limani Trading Master asked the
Magi Heptagon to clone the bird. In one of their first real attempts, an accident occured resulting in the birth of the
WafflePhoenix. The Trading Master was very happy to see the bird sitting on his lap thinking it was a clone of an actual phoenix. However, in mere seconds after cloning, it died, turning into a plate of waffles.
With the biggest smile on his face, he asked the mages to improve the lifetime of the bird. With a small army of WafflePhoenixes at his disposal, he brought a group of handimen together to build the first two
Phoenixeries; one in
Limani near
HQ and one in
Matona near their establishment there. The company tried using the birds for a full year to see how much the speed of arrival increased before rolling it out in full. There was a significant increase in speed but also in information leaking.
To tackle this problem, the Limani Trading Master capitalised on the biggest asset of the messaging system: the WafflePhoenix. With these phoenixes turning into a plate of waffles upon their death, he figured there must be something they can do to replicate the same process but with parchment. Once again, he went to the
Magi Heptagon to discuss and experiment. Out of this came the
Limani Supplies Dealer Messages, a special parchment that turns into syrup to accomodate the waffles when its carries dies. Turning delicious twists into extra safety precautions has become a staple at the merchant guild. Unfortunately, it only works for messages as the paper itself turns into syrup which is why parcels are rarely sent by bird.
Nowadays, everyone in
Eshil uses this system to send messages to one another. Some homes own a
WafflePhoenix themselves, others go to a
Phoenixery to rent one for sending their messages. It doesn't generate much for the
Limani Supplies Dealer; they want to provide this as a service to their community.
Tasty tasty waffles. <3
