The Sea Witch

Captain Jivelle Vantega, colloquially known by some as the “Sea Witch,” is a pirate captain that sails on–and under–the golden waves of the Aurrus Sais. She commands only one vessel, the singularly unusual Guillotine. In terms of the many storied and dangerous pirates that hunt the seas, she’s a relative newcomer, it seems, with a legacy stretching only back a handful of years, though nobody can say for sure exactly when she was first spotted.

History and Career

Not much is known about Captain Vantega’s origins, though there are many rumors. Some say she made a deal with the Pale for strange powers. Others might claim she stole the schematics for the Guillotine from ancient Atlantean archives. Still others claim she must have dealings with powerful shadowy figures working in secret in Cherut Das.
Those who have crossed paths with her have provided some amount of insight as to her preferred methodology; she tends to target specific vehicles, tracking or chasing them down until she has them at a disadvantage. Sometimes she offers a parley, sometimes she merely attacks. She’s never seen at the forefront of large-scale assaults and commands no fleet, preferring instead hit-and-run tactics that make ample use of her ship’s unusual capabilities.
Known only to her crew and closest advisors, however, is at least one of her secrets; she relies on the special abilities of a member of her crew to help her locate specific valuable objects. Captain Vantega has also learned a good deal about Asura from two of her Astral crewmates, including knowledge of a realm below the surface of the planet, but the full extent of her knowledge remains a mystery.
