Nara Oldenburg was born in Passau, Germany, to a single mother, Elisa, who worked as a waitress. Her father, a Japanese businessman with significant shares in Samsung, frequently visited Passau, where he had brief affairs with Elisa. Upon learning of Elisa's pregnancy, Nara's father disappeared, but monthly checks of 2,000 € continued to arrive from an unknown source, which Elisa assumed were from him.
Nara grew into a strong, tall woman, standing at 200 cm. At 18, after completing her apprenticeship as a waitress, Nara followed her mother’s suggestion to travel to Japan and find her father when the payments abruptly stopped. She obtained a working visa, planning to study, work, and eventually confront him.
For the first three years in Japan, Nara focused on her studies, learning the language and immersing herself in Japanese culture. Her dedication paid off when she was recognized as half-Japanese, leading to extended full citizenship for both her and her mother. This recognition was bolstered by her participation in Tokyo's women's boxing tournaments, where she quickly gained attention.
After securing citizenship, Nara devoted the next seven years to boxing, encouraged by university friends who saw potential in her formidable stature. She quickly rose through the ranks, becoming a prominent figure in the Japanese boxing scene. However, her involvement in underground catfighting and her mother’s declining health led to a decline in her boxing career, culminating in a significant defeat that left her questioning her future.
During this difficult time, her mother hired a local company led by Kuragari Hidora to track down Nara's father. While Kuragari refused to harm an innocent civilian, which would have been necessary to obtain the required information, he saw potential in Nara and offered her a place in the Yakuza, specifically in his Clan. Initially hesitant, Nara accepted the offer, seeing it as a chance to rebuild her strength and use her boxing skills in a new context. The welcoming nature of the clan's chairman, who valued her unique strengths, also played a key role in her decision.
Though her mother was initially distressed by Nara's involvement with the Yakuza, a dinner with the chairman reassured her that it might be the right path for her daughter, offering her a sense of belonging and a potential path to uncover the truth about her father.
