Noburo Yoshimura (ノブロ ヨシムラ No-bu-ro Yo-shi-mu-ra)
Yoshimura Noburo’s early life was defined by struggle. Orphaned at a young age, he fled the orphanage numerous times, only to be captured by authorities and returned, living much of his childhood as a homeless boy on the streets of Tokyo. His escape from the system was a fight for survival, one that seemed never-ending. That all changed in 2001, when fate led him to an encounter with an old man who left an indelible mark on his life.
The man, wearing shades and sporting what young Noburo thought were “cool” tattoos, was a former boxer and ex-member of the Tojo Clan. Noburo was drawn to him, fascinated by his tough demeanor and strength. The old man, sensing the boy's turmoil, imparted a piece of wisdom that would shape Noburo’s life:
“In life, there are no KOs. No matter how many times you get knocked down, you shouldn’t give a damn. As long as you're alive, you get back up for more. You fight for what you stand for. All we can do is choose. Stand still and cry… or take the next step. I can get you as far as the starting line.”
These words resonated with Noburo, giving him a sense of direction and resolve. The old man became a mentor of sorts, and over the years, Noburo often sought his advice, looking up to him as a father figure. However, tragedy struck in Noburo’s late teens when he learned of the old man’s death. He was one of the few who attended the funeral, standing in the rain alongside only three others: a man in a white jacket with a red shirt, a man in a grey suit with a turquoise tie, and an adult woman who was presumably the old man’s daughter or wife. The man with the turquoise tie was Kuragari Hidora, marking the first time their paths crossed.
Following the old man’s passing, Noburo finished high school and took up work at a local bar. However, after being kicked out from his job, Noburo's life took another turn when he crossed paths with Katashi, a punk biker and a member of the notorious gang known as The Fang. A street fight erupted between the two, a brutal brawl that lasted until both were too exhausted to continue. Over time, this encounter became a weekly ritual, with the two engaging in sparring matches that soon transformed into an unlikely friendship.
However, their reckless behavior caught up with them. When Katashi was arrested, Noburo, in a fit of loyalty, assaulted a police officer and ended up in jail alongside him. Their time in jail marked another turning point in Noburo’s life. Kuragari Hidora, who had remembered Noburo from the funeral years earlier, saw potential in both young men. In 2019, he approached them with an offer, join the Hidora Clan.
Noburo, now driven by a sense of loyalty and the lessons he had learned from the old man, accepted the offer without hesitation. Over the years, his dedication to the clan grew stronger. His strategic mind and relentless determination made him invaluable to the Clan’s operations, and he quickly rose through the ranks. His friendship with Katashi deepened, even as Katashi, despite his long-standing membership, chose to remain a soldier.
Now, at 30, Noburo stands as the Patriarch of the Yoshimura Family, a key subsidiary of the Hidora Clan. His rise to power came when Katashi declined the opportunity, and Kuragari, recognizing Noburo’s leadership potential and unwavering loyalty, saw him as the rightful choice.
