Ampelos Dwarf (AM-pal-OHs)
The Ampelos families of northern Lu Ven are famed craftsmen and agriculturalists. While many dwarf clans have a deep and instinctive connection to the stone and metals of the world, Ampelos dwarves instead have a connection to the trees, vines and fruits of their semi-tropical homeland.

Birth & Baptismal Rites
When a child is born among the Ampelos, they are dedicated to a sapling tree or grapevine that is part of their village.
As the child grows, they are tasked with caring for their particular tree or vine, and if their plant dies they are trained by a village elder to better tend for their charges in the future.

It is seen as deeply offensive to burn the body of a deceased Ampelos. The remains are intended to be returned to the soil, not to be turned to ash.
