Orichalcum

Orichalcum is a somewhat volatile metal. It is a vibrant red with hints of gold at the right angles. Most armor made of it resonates with the soul of its wielder and can lightly harm anyone who strikes it.

Properties

Material Characteristics

Orichacum is a bold red armor with iridescent hints of gold. It often feels warm to the touch.

Physical & Chemical Properties

A metal suit of armor made of orichalcum flares when an enemy strikes against its wearer. Whenever an enemy within 5 fl (5 ft) of the wearer hits the wearer with an attack, it takes the wearer's proficiency modifier fire damage.   A metal weapon made of orichalcum heats when its bearer strikes true. When the wielder scores a critical hit against an enemy, the enemy takes an additional 1d6 fire damage. The effect's damage increases when the wielder reaches 5th level (2d6), 11th level (3d6), and 17th level (4d6). This additional damage is not doubled with the critical hit.

Origin & Source

Orichalcum is usually found in fire-aspected planes.
