Conflict for the Prassus region culminated with the re-taking of Prassus hab city, whereby the 2nd and 3rd battle companies launched a full-scale assault to wipe out its ork occupants.

  Mission Objective: Assault Prassus Hab   General outline: PYRRHIC VICTORY   Full battalion deployment.    

Second Company Report

  * Second company assaulted the hab's bastion entrance in a frontal attack, deploying accurate ranged fire to smash its way through Ork defenders. Resistance was unusually thin for such a well-fortified area.   * The company then proceeded through twisted barricades and access points to gain entrance to the hab blocks beyond.   * Resistance increased within the walls of Prassus, whereby legionary Sergeant Varidus requested deployment of venerable Dreadnought British just as the Orks rallied for a counter-attack.   * The dreadnought deployed, opening with raking fire of the Ork's ranks while the 2nd company advanced towards the food storage objective.   * With the food supply secured, the company progressed through the hab city, meeting light resistance.   * The 2nd company regrouped with the 3rd company, and proceeded to rescue prisoners - one of whom was forcibly strapped to a timed explosive. Sergeant Varidus freed the prisoner and withdrew to a safe distance before detonation.   * The two companies then rallied for the final assault upon the core of the hab city, killing the Orks within and securing it for auxillery rotation.  

3rd Company Report

  * Third company approached the hab city from the south, making contact with Orks located within a vehicle depot marked for destruction by command.   * Centurion Drakan immediately requested dreadnought deployment, whereby Master of Sanctity dreadnought-chaplain Leverian deployed into battle via specialized drop pod.   * Resistance was increadibly high - far beyond what was expected, casualties were sustained, but the depot was cleansed of Orks in short order.   * The company proceeded towards the powerplant, breaching through walls to gain entry.   * Ork resistance proceeded to grow, as heavy weapons were used against them in large numbers. Casualties were sustained, not all gene seed could be accounted for, but the powerplant had been secured.   * The company secured the comms relay, before moving on to regroup with the second company to free prisoners.   * The two companies then rallied for the final assault upon the core of the hab city, killing the Orks within and securing it for auxillery rotation.    

Conclusion

  The hab city of Prassus has been re-conquered, but it has cost the lives of many legionaries. With Prassus Hab under imperial control, the region is now ours.  

Other notes

  It is possible that the heavy resistance faced by the third company could have been a cunning strategy devised by Worldsploda to locate his elite units in areas that we would least expect. Indeed, the bastion position was all too-easy...
