Subward District

The Subward district is the bottom layer of Crystalis, containing the more mortal races in a cramped and dim space. While surrounded by cloud, the latent magic provided by the present leyline allows it to act as a solid and be shaped by mages. The entire district looks as if a layer of snow has settled upon it.
Since the Subward district is the literal underbelly of Crystalis much crime takes place, including an extreme abundance of kidnapping and slavery as the Djinn clamber for ownership of the most unique, beautiful, or skilled mortals.
There are numerous constructs that wander this district, they seem to be peacekeepers and the Djinn stay away claiming that they cannot be bothered. In reality the constructs can buy enough time for people to escape and gather more warriors, causing them to be potential dangers to the Djinn.
