Elf

One of the oldest races in Holdria and usually keep to themselves. Stronger, faster, and longer living than humans, they believe themselves the greatest creation on Holdria

Anatomy

Elves are taller, posses a few extra joints, and the classically long pointed ears.

Growth Rate & Stages

Elves experience a longer infancy period by a year or two compared to humans, but their aging starts to slow down considerably once they reach toddler age. Each subsequent period of life lasts exponentially longer than the last. One is still yet to be found to have died of simply died of natural causes.

Common Customs, Traditions and Rituals

The greatest custom the elves have is simply called The Release. It is the voluntary death of a supremely ancient member of their species it is a ritual where all that have known the elf in question arrive to see meet them one last time. When all greetings are made they then enter a sacred building where they make and incision down the length of their forearms and slowly bleed to death. Only one is elf is permitted to enter with them and is usually their first born child. In this manner is how all elves who reach old age die if they do not die by other means. Releases are decided upon by the one being released.
