Huven

A race born from the bond between Human and Elf.

Basic Information

Anatomy

Huven individuals are structurally similar to both humans and elves. There are only a few key differences that make them unique. Huven individuals will always have a purple eye color, brown hair, and pointed ears that aren't as pronounced as an elf.

Biological Traits

• Huven people are naturally stronger in all ways compared to humans, but not in the same capacity that elves are.
• Huven are naturally resistant to magic. This magic resistance ranges from not being susceptible to minor manipulations all the way to near-complete magic negation.
• Huven can see much better than humans in dark spaces, and they can hear much better as well.
• Huven are naturally resistant to both climate extremes. They are more resistant than either full blooded elves or humans.

Growth Rate & Stages

While elves have longer lives than that of humans, a huven will have have similar lifespan to that of a human. Their growth stages are also extremely similar, with the only difference being that they have a prolonged physical prime than that of humans extending well into their 60s. Even with this prolonged prime, they experience the compounding effects of old age faster than humans.

All huven share three traits that are unique to huven only. They all have brown hair, pointed ears that aren't as pronounced as an elves, and purple eyes. Other traits are at the mercy of regular biology

Geographic Origin and Distribution

Most Huven reside in the region of their origin, Hevania, a small country directly north of Aviagard.

Civilization and Culture

History

The first Huven was born between a human and elf during a blood war between the two. 
A powerful witch who happened to become widowed during the events of the war had cast an immensely powerful and suicidal curse. To curse the land of both men and elves with the bitter cold she felt in her heart. The strength of the spell had ended up wasting the witch away and has gone on ever since with no end in sight.
In the midst of this spell, a head of both clans were caught in the blizzard that had near instantly appeared. They were in a duel while their entourage fought each other in a dance of both protecting their own and trying to kill the other. Their heated battle dulled their senses and they didn't notice the storm until it was too late. They were left by themselves and somehow found shelter together.
The two enemies had to put aside their differences to assure their survival and ended up making a close bond. They had survived for a year in the brazen elements and new dangers. When they returned, the other was pregnant and near their delivery. They had surprised all by not only their survival, but also by what they had committed. After the birth of their child and much work, peace was finally settled. After a few years more Huven were being born, thus the kingdom of Hevania is the only place that humans and elves cross their blood.
